NEWS • The much requested Play Me Out album by Glenn Hughes is finally  returning to the catalogue after a few years out of print (artwork and  masters were lost by the old pressing plant!). It has now been  properly redone and will have a new catalogue number, though the  tracks are the same as the old edition (see under forthcoming).

NEWS • Never issued in the UK before, the rare Ashton / Lord album  First Of The Big Bands is due in July 2010, remastered from original  tapes with bonus tracks and mixes (see under forthcoming).

NEWS • Purple Records released their first ever compilation during the  Autumn of 2009, marking the tenth anniversary of the label. Titled  Space Truckin' Round The World Live 68-76, it is compiled from across  the label's love Deep Purple titles on two discs. It has the usual  nice booklet but no unreleased tracks, as it is aimed more at the  general fan rather than collectors (see catalogue page two).

NEWS • Purple Records issued an official retro Purple Record logo t- shirt very shortly, with the design based on an original 1972 graphic. This was originally to be a promo only item to mark the label's anniversary but as a number of people expressed interest, it is available as a limited edition via DPAS Mailorder only.

Jon Lord's album WINDOWS was reissued in November 2009. The album was recorded at a special concert in Munich in June 1974. Jon Lord, fellow Deep Purple musicians David Coverdale (vocals) and Glenn Hughes (bass), and a host of rock luminaries including Ray Fenwick, Pete York and Tony Ashton took part. The album was issued on Purple Records back in 1999 but has been unavailable for several years. This reissue has been newly remastered to celebrate the 35th anniversary of the concert and comes initially as a limited edition digipak with 12 page booklet and the original cover art.
