Deep
Purple (Jon Lord, Ian Paice, David Coverdale and Glenn Hughes)
were based in California in June 1975 at Pirate Sounds Studios
searching for a new guitarist, when Tommy Bolin walked in, strapped
on his guitar and began to play. "We alll just stood there
in amazement," recalled David Coverdale later. Tommy's arrival
added a new dimension to Deep Purple and over the next two months
they months they spent hours jamming and writing for the album
'Come Taste The Band'.
It
is from tapes of those rehearsals that Purple Records' 'Days May
Come...' cd (PUR 303) was assembled. Anything which didn't fit
in for whatever reason was put to one side, but as fans inevitably
wanted to hear this material it was made available for a mail-order
only release.
Both
'Days May Come' and '1420 Beachwood Drive' can be ordered from
the dpas
online store.
