The Official Bootlegs series makes live recordings of the band from 1968 to 1976 available to the collector. These releases are licensed from Deep Purple (Overseas) Ltd. ensuring royalties go through to the band rather than the bootleggers. Titles are sourced from the best available audience, soundboard and media recordings, or dubs from original vinyl. Digital audio restoration is carried out to improve the quality as much as possible, however the sound quality is not comparable with normal CD releases.

At first all titles came packaged in card digipaks. However repressing in this format has caused problems, and a number of the titles went out of print. These will gradually be reissued in regular jewel cases with 8 page booklets. The music will be the same but the CDs will have new front / back cover designs. Each title reissued this way will have a new catalogue number to avoid confusion. Sold individually, you can collect just those you want, or the entire series.

If you're sitting on any soundboard or clear audience tapes from 68-76 we're interested in hearing from you. Several collectors have already come forward with material and confidence is guaranteed.
